let's go for a car ride

A few months ago I got a small camera that would fit in the diaper bag. One that meant I didn't have to drag around another big bag besides the diaper bag and I could take pictures more easily anywhere. To prove my point, I took a picture of my munchkin while we were driving somewhere. This was one of those pictures where I held the camera over my head and shot the picture, hoping it would turn out. This layout is from a template challenge over at Elemental Scraps. The template is by Chrissy W. and the kit is Isabel Mendez' TroubleMaker. I did change it up a little and darken up the papers. I had a really hard time with this layout. I had tried it with a few other pictures and it just wasn't working for me. This picture just inspired me and I had it done quite quickly.
I'm even featured as an example of this challenge on the blog. (thanks so much!)
Now back to caring for my sick boys. All of them. Sigh.

boy wonder

I never really liked orange before I had my munchkin. Somehow, things changed and now I absolutely love orange. I got numerous orange shirts as gifts and my boy looks amazing in orange. I even love orange so much that I'm going to paint my living room orange. It's funny how tastes change.

This kit, Wonder by Sweet Digi Scraps, has a lot of orange and I love it! I went through about 4 different kits making this layout before I saw the Wonder kit and thought it was perfect. The template is from Angie Kovacs' A Perfect Trio

There is a photography challenge over at Elemental Scraps that is all about the "rule of thirds" and cropping your photos. These photos needed to be cropped to make them look better. My munchkin was in the middle of each of the photos and it just didn't look good. Putting his face over to one side of the photo made him and the bubbles stand out more.

Splish Splash by Casey Krause

Casey Krause has created an amazing new kit call Splish Splash. (it's here at Pretty Scrappy) She gave me a chance to be on the creative team for this kit and I had a lot of fun doing it! (thanks Casey!) I discovered that I have over 150 bath pictures of my little boy, so I'll be putting the kit to good use. I did a couple of layouts tonight and I already have ideas for 2 more.

There are lots of papers and elements in the kit and 2 cool alphas made of sponges. The alpha is my favorite part of the whole kit!

i heart you

I've recently discovered Inspiration Lane. A lot of the Digital Candy girls moved there and I'm excited to find them somewhere new!

This layout is a scraplift challenge I did. The kit is xoxo by Creations by Rachael. I rotated the page and finally found the perfect kit for that picture.

my boys

I used items from the May Color Play set (search may color play to see all the items) at Elemental Scraps for this layout. The alpha is Bella Gypsy's Barely Stitched. The stitching is from Isabel Mendez's Trouble Maker kit. The papers are Sherri Tierney's All Boy paper set.

This was from a photography challenge. The challenge was to take a picture that had backlighting. This was one of those perfect oppurtunities.

i love trouble :)

This is a layout I did with Isabel Mendez's Troublemaker kit over at Elemental Scraps. It was a scraplift challenge of this layout by daisydil.

It was one of my quickest layouts. Everything just flowed together. I recolored a few of the elements and went with a light background so that the picture would stand out more.

the fairy godmother

A few years ago I dressed up as Cinderella for Halloween and my sis dressed up her two as the fairy godmother and the pumpkin. I didn't get any pics of the three of us because we were in different towns, but my niece thought it was cool that we were all from Cinderella.

I used Sande Krieger's Mary, Mary Quite Contrary for this layout. I found it over at Two Peas in a Bucket. (it's free!)

be merry... or not

This is one of the very first layouts I ever did. I used Cherie Mask's Be Merry kit over a Two Peas in a Bucket. (it's free!)

Digital Candy

The Digital Candy website is shutting down. I have no idea why, but I'm sad to see it go. I've been testing out quite a few different forums and Digital Candy was one of the best.

There's some great sales going on, including a few "Buy My Store" options. Go check it out!

kiss me

This is my favorite picture from my wedding that doesn't include the cute kids.
I used Bella Gypsy's Pear Extraordinaire paper for this. I love the colors of that kit.

This was a journalling challenge over at Elemental Scraps. The challenge required a definition of a word. It fit this picture perfectly!

push start!

Chrissy W sent out this template (which she scraplifted from here) in celebration of National Scrapbooking Day. I used Bella Gypsy's Tomfoolery kit for the layout. For the "push start!" word art, I took Bella Gypsy's All Growed Up alpha and recolored it to match this layout.

a birthday cake

I made this fun flip-flop cake for my girl's birthday. (check it out on my other blog) I chose Sherri Tierney's Early Spring Morn kit for this layout. I really like how it turned out. The font is CK Becky.

I made a little treat for you :)

Don't forget to download One Spring Day. I'll be taking the download option away early in May.

bouncy!

We went to my brother's to try out the trampoline the other day. My munchkin loves to bounce and loved being on the trampoline.
I quickly found the perfect kit for these pictures. Bella Gypsy has a kit called Get Bent, Taxman! The colors in the kit complimented the picture perfectly. I also used a clipping mask from CoffeeShop. Go check it out, it's an amazing site full of fun stuff.

to the moon and back

This layout is from Digital Candy's Copy Cat Challenge. Check out the original here

I used the Digital Candy blog train kit My Kind Of Rocket. I made some of the papers and elements brighter because it looked a little washed out. The word art is from Miss Erin's Scraps' Blast Off kit from the blog train over at Ginger Scraps.

got toys?

This was from a scraplift challenge over at Elemental Scraps. I used the kit Slowpoke by Bella Gypsy. I've used that kit many times, there's a lot of different ways to mix up the paper and elements.

i'm NOT a girl

We bought this "I'm Not A Girl" shirt from Old Navy the day we found out that we were having a boy and then let everyone find it the next day when we moved. I had already done a layout for some of these pictures, but I just didn't love it. It was one of the first ones I did and there's a few of those I want to redo.

The template is from Chrissy W's challenge at Elemental Scraps. The kit I used is by Sherri Tierney, also from Elemental Scraps. It's called Early Spring Morn.

laughter and tears

There's a challenge over at Brownie Scraps with LeenieLou Designs April '09 Semi-Homemade Template.
The kit is called Priceless and it's by Designs by Ramona. It's not in the store, but she's got lots of awesome kits.

splish splash

Over at Ginger Scraps there is a great template challenge. This is what I did with it. My munchkin is a waterbaby and loves to splash! I used the kit My Life by Stolen Moments. The water drops are actually part of a tree element. It's just perfect for this layout.

lego fun

I found this awesome template over at Linzy's blog. We had so many pictures from our trip to the Lego display that I didn't know what to do with all of them. I found this template and managed to fit most of the good pictures into place. It's a great template to display lots of memories.

a day at the park

I liked the bright colors of this photo and this kit was perfect for it. It's "a little charm" by Sherri Tierney and it's the Inspired by challenge at Elemental Scraps.

let's swim!

This template challenge is from Elemental Scraps. I used designs by Bella Gypsy - Slowpoke. It's a really cute kit that I'm getting a lot of use out of.

Laurie's Scraps - Template Challenge #5 (4/15 to 4/30)

RK Design - paper strip
Serene by RW - paper strip

Christie's Altered Candy Challenge - April

I made a few attempts to work with the kit Christie provided for Digital Candy's April Altered Candy Challenge. This is the one that I liked the most. I altered the colors of the background papers and photo frame to be a little more yellow. I darkened the stitches so that they would stand out more on the pale background.

one spring day mini-kit

Digital Candy has a great color palette for it's April Whet Your Palette challenge.
I made an attempt to create a kit. It also includes a layout I made.
